COLLAGE KIT: SELF-CARE

May 20th, 2020

by Alia Wilhelm & Anna White

The world self-care gets used often these days, especially as many of us attempt to reach some kind of healthy equilibrium during this wacky period in our lives. Now, more than ever, we're asking ourselves: What activities bring us peace? What pastimes spark joy? For both of us, being outdoors is a great source of self-care, as is biking and yoga. Moving, when everything else seems so stagnant, feels vital.

We've grouped together a number of different elements here which have helped us feel better in the midst of all this upheaval: wearing slippers round the house, watching the bees buzz around, listening to the birds sing, reading old Sophia Loren cookbooks and James Baldwin novels, baking cookies and eating fresh vegetables when we can. This is our way of remembering that the world is still shiny and beautiful, as are we.

We recommend printing these out pages out so you can use good old-fashioned scissors and glue to do some arts and crafts. When you're done, send a photo or a scan of your artwork to hello@nearnessproject.comHappy collaging!
