COLLAGE KIT: TECHNICOLOR NOSTALGIA
3rd March 2021
by Simone Bouchey
I've always been fascinated by the past, and nostalgic even as a kid. This past year, I felt like I was dropped back into my 17-year-old self: obsessively reading, collaging and using astrology and tarot as outlets for my feelings as well as tokens of affection for my friends and family (whether they want them or not)! In this reunion with my volatile teenage self, I've emulated both the bright, color-coordinated photo albums my dad meticulously created to document my childhood, and the timeless, mysterious quality of space, vintage family photos and magazine spreads. It's a fun mess of monochrome and technicolor, and it creates something oddly harmonious. I recommend printing these pages out so you can use good old-fashioned scissors and glue to do some arts and crafts. When you're done, send a photo or a scan of your artwork to hello@nearnessproject.com. Happy collaging!
