HEAD BACK HOME TO THE PLACE I GREW UP

Words & Photos by Zoe Bridgwater
Named after a lyric from the Alex G song, "Harvey", this series of photos shows the movement from my home to my second dorm then back to my home again. I felt an immense need to start capturing moments in my life during the summer of 2019 and ended up buying a pack of disposable cameras since they are the easiest to carry around. Whenever I would get the overwhelming urge to document a time/place I could just take out a camera and snap a photo, hoping that it would capture what I was feeling on the inside.

When COVID-19 hit in early 2020 and I had to move out of my dorm in the middle of the spring semester, I was incredibly grateful that I had decided to take so many photos of moments that I would miss when I could no longer go outside as freely. I was also glad that I had taken photos of my favorite dorm throughout various stages of the most difficult school year of my life. I can now look back on these photos and see how much I have grown over the past year.
